I was in love with the purple ostrich version of this bag, but some things are just out of the bag-buying budget. I could easily settle for the woven leather version in a nice summery shade of yellow, however. Some more icing on the cake is that Bottega Veneta used goatskin to weave the leather. Can you say SOFT!! That just raised my opinion a few notches of this bag. The dimensions are lady-like perfect, not overly huge, but still practical for everyday: 13½”W X 11½”H X 5″D. There is a 6″ drop from the handles and comes with a zip and cell phone pocket. Also has the luxurious suede lining, as if this bag isn’t already luxe enough. Available at Saks for $2,100.

Bottega Veneta Braided Leather Hobo

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

bvhoboAaahhh! I talked about this exact bag a while back, when it was only available in ebano and copper. The former was way, way too dark for skin tone and the copper was was too orange-y for my tastes. But this elephant color is perfect! If I have a tan, it compliments it and if I don’t have a tan, well it doesn’t give too much contrast. So plus, plus. You do have to think about these things when contemplating a handbag purchase. And I have seen this bag in person, and the leather is exceptionally soft, which is a given, and quite large, but it is smooshy, squishy, and curves to the body. Love love love. And this is at the max of my comfort price zone for a bag, which is fantabulous, since I’m not willing to spend more than $1,500 on a bag at this point. And when has Bottega Veneta ever had an amazing bag BELOW that price range?? Exactly! Which seriously makes this a bargain buy for them from the get-go, but as always I will hunt down every sale, discount, coupon code to get a bag that I really want. Unless of course it’s from one of the snobbier labels that doesn’t do it, and then you just have to bite the bullet ;) . The only +/- is the elephant color is on pre-order, but that is fine by me! Available at Saks for $1,380.

Bottega Veneta Copper Python Clutch

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

How over-the-top fabulous is this clutch? If the price was somewhat more reasonable, it would be an absolutely fabulous clutch, but when you are asking $4,100 for a little bit of python…well, there is nothing else to call it! Of course, Bottega Veneta might be able to get away with it, but I prefer to admire this copper python clutch from afar. But I couldn’t resist how something that is a trend can be such a classic! Metallics go with just about everything, and the soft folds make this one interesting and give it a cool vibe. Available at Netaporter.

I have been lusting for Bottega Veneta lately. Baaaaaad. I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I want it all: belts, shoes, bags, dresses. Dresses… Tomas Maier can make a dress and the goddess trend (it’s not a trend to me, but a classic) on these dresses just makes a woman’s beauty that much more feminine and gorgeous. You just can’t beat it! And I noticed one bag off the runway that I wouldn’t say no to: the crocodile satchel…drool! So, basically I like where BV is going…keeping women beautiful in subtle colors and sexily draped dresses while being surrounded by a sea of 80’s shoulder pads, neon colors and harem pants. Yuck. That is a trend if I ever saw one. So thank you Bottega Veneta and Tomas Maier for realizing what makes women look their best rather than trying to blind us with acid colors and 80’s throwbacks. Oh I can’t help myself. I just love the little luxuries…with the big price tags. But if I can use the argument, “But it will last forever!” this sexy pair of Bottega Veneta Crocodile Wedges will totally do just that. I don’t know if there is anything else to say other than I am dreaming of wearing these with a cute summer frock. The picture says it all. Available at Saks for $1,650.

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Slouchy Shoulder Bag

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Bottega VenetaMmm..MMM..mmm. This caramel Bottega Veneta Slouchy Shoulder Bag is all me. I like this style better than the other similar one, because the magnetic closure is so easy to get into. I understand some gals must have their zip closure, but I’m more of the easy, breezy type. So, onward! I do love the soft, lovely suede lining in Bottega Veneta’s bags. They are just that little detail of luxury that I can appreciate and makes me happy every time I reach for something in my bag. Plus, I love the size of this one: 15″x10″. It’s the perfect everyday size that looks good on most women. I was playing around at Saks last weekend and some of those bags just swallow you up, and how does that EVER look chic? Only if you are 7 ft tall, but I don’t think Shaq will be carrying a handbag any time soon. And look how chic the model looks:

Bottega VenetaExactly. The perfect, slouchy every day bag. I do cry at the price on these pretty babies, but hey, it’s Bottega Veneta. But they are super soft, the leather is absolutely divine. Buy through Net-a-porter for $2,520.

Bottega Veneta Woven Leather Bag

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Easy, classic, soft. What else do you want in your handbag? The exquisite shape, that leather, this Bottega Veneta woven leather bag is nearly perfect. Okay…it’s perfect! I could probably go on and on about Bottega Veneta bags and I can show you my wish list to prove it. A magnetic closure (how much easier can it be to open a bag?) and the perfect every-day bag dimensions (13.5″x8″x5.5″) are what make this BV bag a classic and an investment piece. It won’t look “so last season” ever! It will still be just as current now as it would be 10 years from now. That’s why you buy classic ladies! Of course classic, investment-worthy pieces will cost you…this one is $1,597.51 after the conversion from pounds. Available at Browns Fashion.

Bottega Veneta Blue Love

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

These gorgeous shades of blue that Bottega Veneta has splashed all over their bags and shoes this season is scrumptious! The last thing I need right now is another bag, but I can safely view this eye candy without purchasing. Plus…belts and shoes are always necessary, right? I usually find the neutral colors of BV nice and simple, but the more vivid colors are what really capture my attention. Plus, with spring and summer around the corner colors are exactly what we need to perk us up after winter dreary hibernation. You can purchase the blue Bottega Veneta Intrecciato shoulder bag at Net a porter for $1,950.

Ah, beauty. I just want to smell that exotic leather. Weird? Have you ever smelled divine, luxurious leather handbags? It’s intoxicating. And I know this would be intoxicating because it is from Bottega Veneta. Even their plain leather bags are heavenly, so imagine what their big kahuna of bags would be like? Bottega Veneta Braided Leather Hobo

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Didn’t think that it was possible to find a Bottega Veneta bag for a decent price? This Bottega Veneta Braided Leather Hobo is screaming for someone to love it and hug it and just pet it all over and the price tag won’t hinder you! I am anxious to see this bag in person because it is absolutely lovely in pictures. And you know how soft it will be just knowing this is a Bottega Veneta bag. When have they not used only the finest leathers that melt in your hands? I’m already thinking this through my head “Dear Hubby, I need this gorgeous new Bottega Veneta bag BECAUSE…I don’t own a BV and this would make a great first BV and it’s practically on sale compared to their woven leather bags…” ah yes…I wonder how that would go…Even the description of the bag says “sculpts to the body” I’m so sold. You can pre-order the copper color, but that one is a little *too* much for me, I prefer the ebano, but either way you have a gorgeous classic on your hands. Buy through Saks for $1,380.
